Welcome to Peter & Daniel's Fishing page

Once again it is our goal to provide you, our readers with useful information and links into the large world of Fishing. Being from Southern California here is a GREAT LINK for Californians fishermen or visitors to our beautiful state it is CALIFORNIA FISHING REPORTS , it will offer info on fishing status in many areas of the state, if you are getting ready to head out, it's well worth a look-see.

Guys, I am so excited about this new page, I had to put it at the top of this one! You are going to LOVE it. It has so much stuff for FISHING & BOATING, I spent over an hour looking through the pages. Go ahead and take a peek! MoosenoseBrothers Fishing & Boating World ,everything you need to go get that BIG ONE!

I just received a link to a great item, our large family loves Water skiing, I on the other hand am quite clumsy at it, so I much prefer getting an old truck intertube and use it instead of skis BUT that is now going to be a thing of the past! I just placed an order for a WEGO KITE TUBE, click on banner below and watch the movie that is offered! I can't wait to get mine and take it to the lake! I hope I have the fortitude to get on LOL.

Like hunting, fishing was one of man's first activities, it didn't take us very long to figure out that these critters would make a great meal.

Today of course, we can thank technology for improving our odds of catching these tasty morsels. Early man used spears, primitive bows and nets, the idea of using a line with hook came quite a bit later. Early communities that lived by bodies of water, rivers, lakes and seas did not migrate as much as those that depended on hunting. Water in most areas provided a plentiful array of foods.

Fishing is now a multi-billion industry, be it for sport or for commercial uses.It is an activity that is enjoyed by all age groups, most kids love the question " You want to go fishing? ", boys and girls alike love ANY activities that can be shared with their parents and family members, Grandparents are quite adept to that pleasurable chore. It gives our children the opportunity to discover the GREAT OUTDOORS and learn about conservation to boot! Here is a link to a wonderful site, it will give you very useful information on many subjects, bodies of water, State contacts & fishing information and much more, go ahead and investigate it!

Peter and his brothers are far more experienced fishermen than I am, they will continue to send me materials & pictures to publish on these pages. If there is something in particular that you would like to see on this topic, please feel free to drop us a line, I will respond as quickly as possible.

Those will cover many subjects, we will begin by posting articles on Water Safety (Amazing to me how many folks will go boating, yet do not know how to swim and even worse, WILL NOT wear their required Life vests).

We will offer information on New Equipment/Gear, Fishing Techniques, Seasons & locations for types of fish, Salt Water fishingFresh Water fishing, Stream fishing, Bow fishing, Fly fishing,Bass Fishing, Trout Fishing. We will also provide" Favorite recipes" and much more!

One topic that I think will be great for all of us, will be labeled "The One That Got Away", this will be the place for you to submit your fishing tales! It was HOW Big???, we also hope you will submit your pictures, here are a few of mine when I lived in the Great State of Oregon (Truly an awesome State for all these types of activities, Yes it does rain a bit! But Hey it is really green out there LOL).

One essential tool for fishing, hunting and general out activites is a GOOD Knife,  keep in mind that a good blade can keep you alive, should something unexpected happens in the wild. I have found this site, it offers a huge selection of knifes and much more, even items related to that great movie "Lord of The Ring", helmets, swords etc. QuickKnife

Here is my friend Ray of Coquille,OR. He took me crabing, digging for Emperor Clams. The fish you see he caught on the Coquille river.  The Coos Bay area is truly a fisherman's paradise! Fresh water & Salt water game abundant! Bring your gear if traveling by!

This trout was so TASTY! The salmon above was great Barbecue fare!

These next pictures were provided by Peter's cousin, Steve Foucault of Texas Rangers/Detroit Tigers fame.

This next picture is submitted by my Old Buddy Chris Willman (Peter's little brother LOL), a very accomplished fisherman who LOVES Bass fishing. We here at the Moosenosebrothers.com are happy to announce that Chris is going to be our Editor at large for this topic. His fishing knowledge is quite extensive (compared to Peter's and mine) and I know you will appreciate his tips etc. The Moosenose Brotherhood is growing by leaps and bounds! Welcome LilJunior Moosenose!

Chris and his kid Seth, both Great Fishermen!

                                                                   "SKETCH"

These next pictures do not have anything to do with fishing but I thought you might get a kick out of them! His name was "Sketch", he was a semi-wild raccoon that was found injured when very young, our neighbors had brought him back to health, then one day he disappeared in the vast woods behind our home, a year or so later, at around 9pm, we heard a scratching noise at the front door, I went and opened it and this thing flew right past me and went directly to our open bathroom, where he proceeded to dive in the toilet bowl (clean thank God),imagine the look on our faces! But he was tame as you can see, he continued to visit us daily for a couple of hours at a time, this lasted about 5 or 6 weeks, then he must have found a lover because he never returned before we moved to California a couple of months later. It is an experience my wife & I will cherish forever.

Bubbles are because my wife wouldn't appreciate having a picture of her napping being on the web LOL, you should have seen her face a couple of seconds after this pic was taken! To her credit, she didn't scream or yell, but she did sit up straight and had the biggest eyes LOL (She too loves and respects wildlife).

If you live in California OR plan to visit, this site might help you catch that "Big One"  FISHINGNETWORK.NET
